Stephanie’s story does not start with the cervical cancer diagnosis that she received in April of 2007. Stephanie was a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a mother. Most importantly, she was a child of God. It was her faith in God that led Stephanie through her life. Stephanie was a graduate of Bartlett High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. After college, Stephanie taught at Kate Bond Elementary and later Rivercrest Elementary. In October of 2005, Stephanie gave birth to her daughter, Zoe. Stephanie and Randy decided that Stephanie would stay home to be a full-time mother. Stephanie spent her days with her family, scrapbooking, sewing, and going to church. Stephanie’s battle against cancer lasted for nine months. Throughout her journey she leaned on her friends and more importantly the strength of the Lord. Stephanie knew that God had a plan for her. As she fought for her health, people gravitated toward Stephanie to offer support. In the end, it was Stephanie that helped so many. She renewed people’s faith, urged people to reunite with family and friends, and showed people how to embrace everyday.
